Dodge recalls 65,000 Journey CUVs and 56,000 Ram 1500 pickups in separate actions

2011 Dodge Ram Chrysler has announced that it's recalling over 121,000 vehicles in two separate actions. A total of 56,611 2011 Ram 1500 pickup trucks are headed back to dealers over concerns that a bearing in the rear axle may fail. While the problem may present itself in the form of a growl or grinding noise, if left unchecked, the axle may seize up, potentially causing a crash. The vehicles in question were manufactured between September 2009 and December 2010.

Additionally, the carmaker is also recalling 65,180 Dodge Journey crossovers from the 2009 model year due to faulty wiring. According to the National Highway Transportation Safety Administration, wiring in the vehicle's front door may fatigue and break over time. As this could interrupt the side-impact airbag circuit, owners may encounter an ABS warning light on the dash. In the event of an accident, the side-impact air bags may not deploy properly. This marks the second large recall on the 2011 Ram in less than a month.

Both recalls are expected to begin in February and Chrysler will repair the axles in Ram 1500 models and replace the both front door wiring harnesses in Dodge Journey models free of charge as necessary. Hit the jump to see both recall notices.

It's the end of the 2010, and here at Autoblog, that means we've frittered away another 365 days driving great cars and going to the world's best automotive events. While we certainly enjoy getting to do those things, what makes it worth it is being able to share it with you, our readers. We do our best to tell the stories, but as often as not, it's the accompanying photographs that really allow us to share what we're up to. Besides, we love seeing beautiful, high-res images of cars as much as the next guy, and we enjoy them all that much more when we're the ones behind the lens.

As has become something of an end-of-December tradition here at Autoblog, we've gone through our hard drives in search of the best photos we've taken in the past year. We've selected our favorite 100, which you can see assembled in the massive high-res gallery below. We hope you enjoy the images as much as we did reminiscing and putting them together. And if you want to get really nostalgic, you can view our favorite photos from 2009 as well as 2008. Enjoy!
