Solberg impresses Peugeot in Monte

Peugeot Sport director Olivier Quesnel says he has gained a greater understanding of Petter Solberg from working with the Norwegian on this week's Monte Carlo Rally. Solberg drove a 207 S2000 for the first time on the Intercontinental Rally Challenge opener, but failed to finish after an alternator failure on the run back to the principality in the early hours of Saturday morning. The 2003 world champion had been in contention for a maiden Monte win before an errant tyre choice dropped him from second to seventh on day two

Williams not chasing cash injection

Williams chairman Adam Parr insists his team's idea of a flotation on the stock market is not because it wants to raise immediate funds for the company. Although Williams lost a number of sponsors at the end of last year, Parr said on Friday that outfit has been profitable in the last few years and is therefore not chasing an injection of cash. He confirmed the team already secured its full budget for 2011, partly thanks to a recent deal with Venezuelan oil company PDVSA which has come on the back of signing Pastor Maldonado.
